Top 4

Well hello all... I'm watching a day late again, so we're gonna try to get this done quick.

Welcome 4 judges, oh... Tasty Oreo is on the panel! And the only reason there was an exclamation point is because I enjoy calling him Tasty Oreo.

I'm nervous that this routine is called a "crap shoot."

I liked the costumes... not all that insane about the dance even though it was dance welled. I expected more wow but... it wasn't as exciting as I thought Tasty Oreo imagined it was in his head.

Okay, let's get down to it:

Pasha and Lauren doing a Tango. That was GORGEOUS. The lifts were magnificent and so was their chemistry. Excellent. Intense. Controlled. Sexy. TANGO!

Lauren and AdeChike doing an African Jazz Routine I am distracted by the costumes. As you know, Orange is my favorite color - but the shrug he is wearing is just... ummmm... no. It feels like it's cutting off his upper body movement... he seems stilted somehow. And the choreography just seems... more cheesy than fun. And can I just say that Tasty Oreo is talking like a crazy man... he comes from the Mia Michaels school of judging but in a less constructive way.

Now we have Robert and Anya doing a Vietnamese Waltz. Some of his lines are quite lovely... but he's not SOLID enough in his footing. I feel like a stiff wind will knock him over. He's not as good at lifts as I would like him to be either. I do love her dress.that hands on his hip spin thing she did was lovely.

Kent with Courtney doing Disco... I HATE DISCO! That was horrible. Kent looked like a little kid doing a a dance routine. .. BUT he did a lift that looked controlled and solid. He's a great partner. And I have to youtube Nigel doing disco now...

Lauren with Ade doing a Jazz Number. So... I don't know that I liked the routine - but THAT boys is what a strong male partner is. Those were solid and beautiful lifts. Trust is a BEAUTIFUL thing.

AdeChike with Kathryn doing contemporary. She looks so good in that color. And AdeChike is doing the worm? I don't get the choreography with the music. It seems a little disjointed. It seemed well danced, but I just wasn't wild about it. The end position was pretty.

Robert and Dom doing Hip Hop - and I'm sorry - I have to fast forward this if they're dressed as clowns... and they're dressed as clowns. So I have no idea if it was any good because I couldn't watch it.

Kent and Neil doing a contemporary piece by Travis... UMMMMM I haven't watched it yet, but already I love everything about it. and I did love everything about it. That was great. I really like it when Kent dances with other guys. It's really strong and he's more masculine when he's dancing with another dude. Their side by side work was BEAUTIFUL and the timing was impeccable and the look on Kent's face when Neil stepped on him. Brilliant work my boy!

So, I think the top 3 should be Kent and Lauren and Alex Freaking Wong. But since that won't happen, as long as Kent and Lauren are there, I don't care who else is with them.

Okay, so now I'm fast forwarding the result show to see how's in our finale - so if you haven't watched... well, stop reading!

So... you don't care if you find out then who's in the top 3, right? Because you're still reading...

Don't say I didn't warn you!

Lauren is in our Top 3 - WOOT!
Kent is in our Top 3 - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
Robert is on our Top 3 - I don't care!

Bye Bye AdeChike! He left like a gentleman.

SYTYCD - Top 6 (Part II)

So last week we lost no one... which actually stinks more because this week we have to lose two people. Although, maybe they'll make it easy for us and two people will be extra horrible. One can hope!

Anyway, so this week we have:

Kent
Billy (in a sympathy garnering knee wrap)
Robert
Lauren
Jose
AdeChike

And we have a four panel again. Guest Judge Tony Redpath... not sure why we have a fourth judge (unless it's for filler)

It's time to get down to it.

First Up:
Kent doing the cha-cha with Anya. He has become a much better partner. He was all kinds of into Anya... maybe a bit too much - he pulled some faces which the judges are totally gonna get him for. (and they did) - but it was an improvement "technically" from the first cha-cha he did.

Next:
Robert doing contemporary with Kathryn. How many times is he going to get his own style... or not even his own style, but an over the top emotional manipulation routine? I'm done. He's not a good partner. He's awkward and clumsy with transitions. I can't believe it's Kathryn making it clumsy because she didn't in her own season. The only part of that routine that I liked was that it was Kathryn serving our country and not Robert. PS - Judges smoking crack in my opinion. No one is jumping on the Robert Train people, let it go.

Solo 1:
Jose - eh

Now:
AdeChike doing Jazz with Courtney. (Will it be Tyce or Keith?) How about neither... how bout, a big hot no for me. That was just boring... Jazz shouldn't bore you, should it? It was a bunch of steps for me. Not my cup of tea.

Solo 2:
Lauren - LOVED. Joy and talent look just like that when combined.

Next:
Jose doing Hip-Hop with Comfort... (Once again, I'm feeling the judges are stacking the deck here somehow.) So... If the camera didn't do close ups on Jose, I would not have looked away from comfort that whole time. I would have rather seen this with Comfort and Twitch. I really liked the choreography - it was really unique. (Nigel called out the fact that Jose was missing from Thursday routines - an "unannounced injury" sounds suspicious to me.)

Solo 3:
Billy - I wasn't sure how I felt about that. It was a little strange and not in the way I like him to be strange.

Solo 4:
Kent - We can just call it a Lauren Kent top 2 and skip right to it, can't we?

Next Up:
Lauren doing Broadway with Allison (YAY!) by Tyce or Keith? Okay, so Cute outfits... and they lost steam almost 3/4 of the way through - but I will say that if anyone can tear my eyes of Allison, Lauren did it. (Although I will also say - Allison finishes her movements more - and that would be something that Lauren could take away from this)

Solo 5:
Robert... and I fast forwarded through it and I'm not going to go back to watch it either.

Next:
Billy doing Contemporary with Ade okay, so now everyone in the bottom 3 has gotten to dance their own style (or close to it in the case of Jose). So... other than the fact that I feel like someone is trying to stack the decks... I really loved that. It was a great reminder that Billy is a brilliant technician of his own style. It was beautiful (I liked the choreography, the music, the chemistry).

Solo 6:
AdeChike - When he's not grinning like Carleton - I adore his movement. His body is sick and he moves it with such strength and control.

Next Up:
Kent and Jose doing Broadway by Spencer Liff (I like him!). I got a very Gene Kelly vibe from Kent during this. The turns with shoulder shrugs... so Singing in the Rain for me. I really enjoy this type of "Broadway" choreography. I don't think I've ever seen a Spencer Liff routine I haven't liked. He did such a wonderful job fitting his dancers. Kent was perfect - his face was great (for the character). Jose tried to keep up, and in some parts he did.

Now:
Lauren and AdeChike doing a fox trot... eh... Costume didn't do it for me and there was no real "chemistry" - but the steps seemed to all be there. AdeChike was a little to "up" in his movements... not dirty enough for me.

And we End with:
Billy and Robert doing Bollywood... okay, again, this seems like they're trying to ramp it up for Robert and Billy here because they get the final slot (even though the tape package for Lauren and AdeChike clearly only made sense if they were supposed to be the last slot because they made it sound like we already knew Robert and Billy were partners.) Billy is too skinny in his arms for this style - he just doesn't look grounded or centered or strong. I have to admit, in that routine Robert was better... Not that I really cared for it all that much.

And you know what - I have no idea who's going home because of all the judge/producer manipulation with everything tonight. I am glad Billy didn't go home last week simply because of the routine with Ade tonight. As far as my feelings go - my bottom 3 are:
Jose, Robert, AdeChike
Jose or Robert should go home.

What do you guys think?

SYTYCD - Top 6

So last week we lost Ashley, due to injury... and I just heard (since I didn't get to watch last night when it aired) that Billy has ALSO been injured. Seriously, I don't know what is going on this season... but I'm thinking maybe voodoo from a hoodoo - or that one guy who got injured right before the show and so didn't get into even the top 11...

Anyway, so this week we have:

AdeChike
Kent
Lauren
Jose
Robert

And no Billy... Hey, WHAT in the WORLD is Cat wearing?!?!? That is unfortunate.

And the judges are on some sort of crack... Kenny Ortega is a "special guest judge" and we've got to introduce that with spinney chairs. And to top that off, we go from talking about injuries to talking about how the costume designer won an Emmy. Let's hope she wasn't the one that dressed Cat this episode (see that? Full Circle!) anyway, moving on!

It's time to find out our pairings. This week everyone gets to dance 3, count em, One-Two-Three times! Once with an all star, Once Solo and Once with Each Other. This time though they aren't spilling all the deets on who's dancing with whom or to what - so let's just get down to it!

First Up:
Lauren and Twitch doing the Hip-Hop with NappyTabs. That was AWESOME. Not QUITE Alex Freaking Wong good, but really good. She hit everything right for me. She was sexy but not too sexy and still managed to be cute and also hard and she kept up with Twitch, which is no easy thing. I liked her flow and the gymnastic rolls she did - not only FIT, but helped make her a focal point for me. It was a really good routine from NappyTabs - From the music choice, to the choreography, to the chemistry, to the costume, to the hair... it ALL worked for me. Even the giddyup kick in Twitch's rear at the end... so fun. (Save a horse, ride a cowboy indeed) Great way to start it off.

Next:
Jose and Allison doing Contemporary with Sonya. Okay... so everyone knows that Sonya is not always my favorite contemporary choreographer because she's often a tad too strange for me... This routine was no exception. I wanted to like it, because I adore Allison and I'm super fond of Jose... but all I felt from it, was a sort of sad mime thing going on. The herky jerky movements, the over exaggerated expressions... Even the music said "sad clown" to me - or like she watched UP and wanted to do her own spin to the opening montage - but I didn't get it. And, let's face it... Jose is a sweet boy, but he's not the BEST dancer. I kept wondering how that would have looked had it been danced by Kent or Alex Freaking Wong or Mark... Mark always looks so good dancing Sonya's strange dances. It was just eh for me... I have a feeling I won't remember it by the end of the show.

Now:
Robert and Lauren dancing Jazz by a Tyce (or Keith). Ummmmm... no. He licked her leg. Really Keith? Really? Why are you choreographing this S&M Jazz-esque 1980's B Movie film dance sequence? HORRIBLE. From the bow-chicka-wow-wow over the top beat me upside the head music to the ripped shirt bondage visual cues... I mean really subtle... I don't even want to listen to the judges heap praise upon that because... Ewww. I'm sorry, I couldn't see any of the Dance Technique because I was grossed out by the oookieness of the whole thing.

First Solo:
AdeChike - Beautiful... Simply beautiful. Granted, the song makes me inclined to love the performance - and was a dangerous choice since it was such a beautiful piece done by Ade which other people (like me) could be comparing him to... But he danced so well, that it didn't really matter.

Next Up:
Kent and Kathryn doing Jazz by Sonya - That was kinda fun. It was bouncy. I do agree with Mia that Kent does armature the moves with his faces sometimes although not as badly this week as he has in weeks past. He plays to the audience though - and who's to say if that's not the smartest thing he could be doing. I do love him.

2nd Solo:
Robert - That was pretty. The fact that he's only 20... yeah... sometimes I forget that.

Aside: I WANT TO SEE RAMONA AND BEEZUS

3rd Solo:
Lauren - She's so powerful... Her control is getting better too. Perhaps that's why she's the only girl left...

Now:
AdeChike dancing with Comfort to a NappyTabs Lyrical Hip Hop Routine. (usually my favorite kind!) Wow... Really, really good. I admit, Comfort was not one of the All Stars I was looking forward to having on the show - but she has really GROWN since she was on the show. Anyone else feeling a little Ike and Tina going on? Honestly, it was like watching a danced out scene from What's Love Got to Do With It. As far as AdeChike goes, the highest compliment I can pay him here is that I forgot he wasn't a hip-hop dancer. He was fully committed and it just worked. The chemistry was wonderful. The anger seemed so real between them, the struggle was beautiful to watch. The under leg move was a little awkward, but other than that it was very well danced. And... can I just say - I didn't even mind the use of the highly over-played Alicia Keys song because it fit it to perfection.

4th Solo:
Jose - (he has his mothers smile.) It's nice to see him having fun on the stage... again, I will say that he's not my favorite B-Boy to take the SYTYCD stage, or even the most talented B-Boy - but he is adorable.

5th Solo:
Kent - I adore Kent. NICE SONG CHOICE! Play to your audience boy - that's the way to do it.

Next Up:
Robert and Lauren dancing the Samba by Dimitry. A "beach party" Samba? Ummm... Lauren was (or tried to be) the best part of that routine... I just didn't really care for the routine. But - Robert... I can't... I don't... I just... no thanks.

And then we have:
AdeChike and Jose doing a Paso Doble? Look it's Legacy as the assistant. I love Legacy. I miss Legacy. I want a swirly cape and some Urkel Pants. But that's kind of most of what I got from that dance. AdeChike had some very strong movements - the leap over and then the knee slide across the floor, that was hot and manly. But it seems like they got winded and lost power after that and started to really struggle with their energy and commitment.

And Finally we have:
Kent doing a step routine (without Billy) by Chuck Maldonado - WOOT TWITCH! So... that was a step routine... and it was hard to love because all the SCREAMING got in the way of me paying attention to the synchronization to fairly judge it. It seems like it worked - The judges seem really happy - so I'm gonna go watch it again. The costumes and the screaming... just distractions. The steps were mostly decent. Kent definitely committed to it.

Bottom 3:
Billy
Jose
Robert

If Billy is okay and can dance next week - and that is the bottom 3, I think they'll let Jose go... UNLESS Billy or Robert turns in a horrible solo or just sort of phones it in.

What do you guys think?

SYTYCD - Top 7

We've lost Alex Freaking Wong, and now we are down to our top 7...

Billy
Robert
Jose
Lauren
AdeChike
Kent

Wait... I didn't even notice that Ashley wasn't in the line up until Cat said something. So now we know that Ashley is automatically in the bottom three.

Each contestant is paired with an Allstar and then gets to randomly pick a partner. All Star Pairings are as follows:

Kent doing Broadway with Neil - I'm looking forward to this.
AdeChike doing Salsa with Anya - I'm trying to have an open mind and not just fast forward through this routine, as much as I might want to.
Robert doing Contemporary with Allison - Ummmm, I love Allison, so I have to watch this.
Ashley was supposed to do a Rumba with Pasha - not so much now.
Billy doing Jive with Anya - Hmmmmm.... Billy needs to bring something more to the stage than pretty lines with this... I love his dancing, but he's not showing any personality so far.
Lauren doing Cultural with Mark - I wonder who's choreographing this.
Jose doing Broadway with Courtney - considering Jose is technically deficient... this could be a hot mess or wonderful... I think it depends on what type of routine it ends up being.

And for the random pairings:
Adechike and Kent
Ashley and Robert
Billy and Lauren
Jose and Dominic - (this could be bad for Jose - Dominic is Awesomesauce)

First up:
Lauren and Mark - I think her athleticism really helped her in this routine. I mean, I really don't think I could shake my rear like that... I couldn't tell how good her technique really was because I have no idea what it should really look like. I will say I did like Lauren's shout out thanking them for sharing this with her.

Next Up:
AdeChike and Anya - Well... I didn't find it hot... and I think part of that is the fault of the choreographers for throwing too much at them. It felt rushed, and while I'm impressed that AdeChike didn't drop Anya, that was about all I got from the routine. And can I just say - Mia Michaels! Last week she took a beating for how she dealt with AdeChike, and this week I was worried she'd be overly soft on him... but she gave him wonderful constructive criticism this week. Made me happy.

And Now:
Jose and Courtney - Oh... I love Jose still, but that would have been an AMAZING routine with Billy. The steps just weren't there, he didn't go big enough, he wasn't sharp enough, he wasn't polished.

Next:
Robert and Allison (Doing a Travis routine!) - okay, so I'm already crying and I'm just in the prepackaged footage. Travis... Travis... emotional manipulation playing the mom card. Okay... so I watched it and the part that I got the most emotion from was at the end when her feet were on his and he was walking for her... THAT was a moment... Even the look on Robert's face was perfect there. The rest was very well danced, but for me everything that the piece was, happened at the end.

Now:
Billy and Anya - I felt that was horrible. It was awkward and just... not good. Billy has crazy legs, I love Billy's crazy legs... but not in this routine. He wasn't down in it - the jive is bouncy, not floaty. Billy was committed and fast and sharp - which is part of it, but I still found it lacking.

Next:
Kent and Neil (will it be Tyce or Keith?) Totally Tyce... I really, really, really liked that one. That was fun and well danced. The tricks were great - and well placed - it didn't feel rushed, it was perfect timing and great teamwork and effortless.

And now we are on to contestant dancing with each other...

First Up:
Lauren and Billy - Mandy Moore Jazz Routine - MUCH MORE BETTERER. That was cute. Perfect level of adorable for Billy and Lauren. That was a better connection for Billy. He totally just let loose and enjoyed it, which was great to see. And Lauren has grown since the beginning... her technique was great and I really enjoyed her in this one.

Side note: We have a preview for Step Up 3D... Woot! You know I'm totally going to be there in the theaters (matinee please)- who's with me?

Next:
Jose and Dominic - Okay, so did he do better in this routine than the last one he did... yes. Some of the tricks were impressive... BUT in my opinion, Dominic killed it more than Jose did. The side by side spins... did you see how much faster and harder Dominic hit that? Are the judges going to comment on it? Of course not. Is it just me?

Now:
Kent and AdeChike - Brilliant. Seriously, I think this was my favorite of the night. Kent was amazing. AdeChike had his best chemistry on stage EVER. This was some seriously good dancing. Kent was strong and yet desperate and longing. Seeking and searching... Just beautiful. At one point when he sat on the one chair and ran his hand up the other chair I had a moment of Travis Wall in the Bench Routine. Just wonderful. From the Choreography to the Music to the dancing to the character... everything was perfect for me. I've now watched it four times... and each time I see something new to love about it.

Finaly:
Robert and Ashley doing Disco... Oh no... Disco is the worst on this show pretty consistently every single time. So Robert gets Kathryn... Lets see if he drops her again this week. Well, he didn't drop her but there were a few awkward transitions. That routine looked crazy hard. I will say that Robert didn't let his energy lag, considering the exhaustion factor that must have been going on. I did agree with Mia that he wasn't masculine enough to pull off the outfit.

So, bottom three in my opinion based on routines:
Ashley
Jose
Robert/Billy - Both had one good/one bad routine.

Bottom three based on popularity:
Ashley
Robert
Billy

Safe:
Lauren
Kent - duh
AdeChike will also benefit because of his routine with Kent and general good will leftover from how badly he was treated last week...

What do you guys think?

SYTYCD - Top 8

So, we have lost the tapper and are now down to the top 8... Ready or not, here we go:

Kent
Jose
Lauren
Robert
Ashley
Billy
Adechike

Where is ALEX?!?!?!

So... everyone is dancing twice. Once with an Allstar they haven't danced with already and once with another contestant... huh.

Alex might not be back because of a leg injury... NO!!!!!!!

Allstar Partners announced at the beginning of the show again... and I have decided it does make me happy as it helps with the blogging. Here is my impression of the pairings:

Lauren has a Cha Cha with Pasha and Contemporary with Kent... Maybe Pasha can bring out her sexy because honestly, I have yet to see it. And I heart Kent... and I am praying that they give him something NON sexy for a change. Something sweet and beautiful would be really nice.

Kent has Hip Hop with Comfort - of course, this seems... just like a really bad idea.

Robert has Jazz with Kathryn and a quickstep with Ashley. I'm over Robert, seriously, just over him. But I do love Squeaker Squeak's dancing so I'm hoping it will be good. And then he's also paired up with Ashley... doing a quickstep... AKA - kiss of death.

Ashley has Hip Hop with Dominick - ARE THEY TRYING TO GET HER KICKED OFF!?!?! Have the fates decided this will be her week to go? Don't get me wrong, I love Dom, but it all depends on her and the routine.

Adechike has Jazz with Courtney and Bollywood with Alex Freaking Wong (except not so much due to injury) - so Jazz should be decent, depending on the choreographer and Bollywood could be awesome or a hot mess.

Alex has Foxtrot with Anya - except he doesn't now. Did I mention Sad?

Jose has Contemporary with Lauren and African Jazz with Billy - I really like Jose. He's a really likable guy.

Billy has Broadway with Allison - Have to say, I actually like Jose more because of Billy's pre-packaged clip. And of course I love Allison so I'm looking forward to watch her with Billy.

And now... we begin!

Lauren and Pasha - much more betterer. She has actual chemistry with Pasha. Did you SEE her staring at him? That was for real hot. Costume... worked, and so did her hair. I really liked it - which surprised me. Oh, look at that, the Judges and I are actually in agreement tonight. Sign of things to come?

Jose and Lauren - He's not the best dancer... but there is just SOMETHING about him. He's just so sincere, he's a good partner, he takes direction, he gives every dance everything he's got. It doesn't matter who he dances with, he is the best part of his routines. He is becoming one of my very favorites. Strike that, he started crying and became my favorite. Real tears, and absolute joy and humility... just beautiful.

Kent and Comfort - It was not as Funky as I thought it should be. The costume this week is MUCH better. Did someone hear me say Justin Timberlake last week and take notes? I feel like Randy Jackson, but I'm gonna say it "It was just okay for me."

Adechike and Courtney - Okay, so I do like Mandy Moore, and I'm hoping it works out. Although, I'm not a huge Adechike fan... so we'll see. So I was waiting for someone to fall off a stool or the bar or something. The thing is... the Cha Cha was way hotter for me than this was. It was just hokey - a "character" and not a dance. I totally agree with Mia about donut holes... and now I want a donut.

Billy and Allison - oh wait, Katee! - He makes such pretty lines. Costumes didn't help but make me watch Katee all the more... but this was probably my favorite routine of his so far this season. I love Broadway on Billy. I'd love Billy on Broadway.

Ashley and Dominik - so, I think she might be going home... seriously, this was just not the best for me. Especially compared to Alex Freaking Wong last week with the hard hittingness. And apparently I am the only one that thinks that as the Judges just love her.

Robert and Kathryn - The "plastic" part suits Robert for me, so maybe this will work. That was horrible. Worst partnering I think I've ever seen on the show. The idea was great, but the execution... not so much. I did like the in the box stuff, but the partnering stuff was just a fail for me. The judges, once again seem to be watching something other than what I am watching... grrrrrr.

Adechike minus Alex Freaking Wong - did anyone else see Carlton doing Bollywood? Just me? No one else heard him say "C'mon Will!"? No? Kay.... just me. Sorry, he lost me during the judges comment when he beat his chest.

Lauren and Kent - TRAVIS WALL I LOVE YOU!!!!! They were also better when dancing separately in unison than when they had to do any sort of transitions together... He's not as strong a partner on lifts as he could be... wow... kissing at the end... sup with that.

Robert and Ashley - Welcome to the bottom 3... In the famous words of Evil Willow "Bored Now". (that's a Buffy reference for those who don't get it)

Side Note: Love the Old Spice Commercials.

Billy and Jose - That was interesting. Jose did not HIT as hard as I wanted him to. Billy is crazy flexible. He should always dance as a "creature" He's just so Bendy.

And that's it! Who's your bottom 3? My picks, Robert and Ashley and Adechike. If Adechike ends up in the bottom, it is entirely possible he will go home. Of course, if Alex Freaking Wong can't dance, then he automatically goes home and bottom 3 doesn't count.

Top 9 Dancers

Noticed in the opening... only 3 girls left... and I'm not really all that crazy about any of them. Hey look, Cat noticed it too!

Ready now to bust out my personal review for your pleasure... Here we go:

Allstar Partners announced at the beginning of the show... not sure if this makes me happy or if I'd prefer a little more surprise, but here are my first impressions of seeing the pairs for the week.

Lauren with Neil doing Broadway - we'll do well because we're pretty? Really?!?! She bothers me for some reason. But I do love Neil so it'll be interesting to see if he lifts her up for me.

Melinda with Pasha doing Salsa - yeah... the tapper needs to go home already. I love me some Pretty Pasha, but I don't want to watch Melinda "act" her way through salsa please.

Billy with Kathryn doing Contemporary - Yes Please... just could it maybe not be Sonya...

Ashley with Ade doing Contemporary - Who is Ashley? I do love me some Ade though.

Robert with Courtney doing Jazz - I was on board immediately until he started making out with the camera... seriously - just dance.

Jose and Anya doing Samba - oh dear... this could be really bad or really good... Please let it be good.

Kent and Allison doing Jazz - YES PLEASE!!!! My absolute favorite girl I think EVER... Could she maybe win this season? No... Okay, well then how about Kent... cuz he's freaking adorable!

Adechike with Lauren doing Hip Hop - I'm hoping he brings a little more personality to the hip hop than he's done to everything else. I have to watch it to give you all my review of it, but I think I'd rather not...

Alex freaking Wong with Twitch doing Hip Hop - Heck yes! I am totally there hoping for some TRANJI action. (For those of you who don't know the meaning of TRANJI, please go to youtube and type it in and watch Travis and Benji from season 2 do one of the best hip hop routines in SYTYCD history by Shane Sparks.)

And now... we begin!

Adechike starts us off with a Dave Scott Hip Hop routine. Wow, chemistry in the prepackaged video... and it translated to the actual performance! It was cute... not the best I've ever seen, but the best Adechike has been on the entire show. Nigel hits it on the head when he's talking about natural swagger and chemistry and LACK of Nerves... And now we have a little bit of bordering on cocky... so it could go anywhere from here.

Up Next:

Ashley is with Ade doing a Dee Caspary contemporary routine. The prepackaged stuff makes me interested to see it... so let's go! Okay, she is a completely amazing dancer... her lines are B-E-A-U-tiful, her feet are sick, she's got great technique and she's a great partner - she reacted so well with Ade to every thing he did... but... she doesn't usually connect with me after the dance is over. I don't remember her by the end of the show, and I don't know why. I think the praise by the judges was a TAD emphatic and a little too grande... but still, she should be safe.

Next up:

Oh, it's a solo by Billy!!! I love the Billy. Awesome Billy with his attitude.

Now:

Robert dancing with Courtney dancing a Sonya Jazz number. Reminds me of Mark in this routine... and all I can think is how much better Mark would be in the routine. Don't get me wrong, Robert is a good dancer, but he just doesn't do it for me... For example, the hand spidery move thing ... not creepy enough, the strangling thing... where's Kupono when you need him... Just sub par for me.

Jose's Solo: Not even close to being the best B Boy we've ever had on the show... cute, but just not enough flow in his movement - he pauses between tricks and it doesn't look effortless - which if this is your style... it probably should.

Melinda and Pasha doing Salsa - yeah... she got her heel stuck in her dress... I remember a season past when another contestant had the same thing happen and she DANCED her way out of the snag... she didn't pause to fix it. And from that on, it threw the whole performance. She didn't do it for me at all. She didn't flow... maybe it's the tapping that makes her pause so much. I agreed with the Judges pretty much and I think they were right that they should have let her go last week, but I don't think they should have said it... they made their choice and it's not her fault it was a mistake.

Next:
Kent's solo... I heart kent in so many ways. I just love the Joy he dances with. He makes me so happy. That is what dance is about for me. Yay Kent!

And Now:
Alex Freaking Wong's Solo - Dude. He's incredible to me. He's just ... Manic and Powerful and musical. The roll to the beat of SYTYCD at the end... awesome musicality!

Next Up:
Lauren and Neil doing Broadway: ummmm... She danced her way out of her dress but I didn't really think she was all that sexy - which that song is meant to be. Mia hit it on the head in her remarks for me.

Solo - Ashley: She has too much hair. It hides her face when she moves and that is why she doesn't connect with me - she's just hair.

Next:
Billy and Kathryn doing Contemporary - beautiful lines amazing dancer... I really liked the song... that to me was a more moving piece than the "abuse piece" last week. More passion in it and more amazing... but mostly the passion was from Kathryn - and Billy could have stepped it way up. He's totally safe, I mean, duh... but the judges are right when they say he has room to grow.

Solo - Robert: I love this song. "Hold You In My Arms, by Ray LaMontagne" The CD is excellent... The CD is Awesome. Sorry, that's all I can focus on.

Next Up:
Jose and Anya doing a Samba: He caught her and didn't drop her... that says something. To quote Paris Hilton... that was kind of Hot... he had moments of really decent footwork and Latin face... The Judges are right about Jose's likeability. It's that Joy and his commitment to everything he does.

Melinda's Solo - Nope. I just cannot buy into her.

And Now we have My Kent - dancing with My Allison... sigh... okay, so I have to go back and watch that again because I'm sorry... when Allison is on the stage she is the one I watch. My eyes are drawn to her. And let me use this opportunity to point out... Allison has A LOT of hair, and her hair is down and whipping around... but you can still ALWAYS see her face and her expression... thank you. Moving on. From Kent I wanted a little more Justin Timberlake in this routine... little less farm boy. He danced it well, but the costume did nothing to help him look MANLY. I still love him though. I understood where the judges were coming from.

Adechike's solo... sick! he's amazing. End of discussion.

Lauren's solo - She's so athletic. I prefer her solos to her talking or her partnering.

And now... for the one we've all been waiting for:

Alex Freaking Wong and Twitch Hip Hop...Now THAT is what I'm talking about. ALEX FREAKING WONG! Ballet Hip Hop say WHAT!?!?! That was AWESOME! Cannot just... WHAT?!?! That was... So WONG it was RIGHT! Seriously... better than Tranji for me... and that my friends is saying something. So freaking AWESOME!

Okay... thankfully we have ended on the highest note possible.

Final thoughts:

I would really like for Tapper to go home. Can we make that happen?
